If you were involved in an accident and sustained injuries in South Philly, you are likely feeling overwhelmed and wondering who can answer questions such as:
Can I take legal action against the person who caused the accident?
What happens if I was hurt on government property?
How much is my case worth?
Our legal team can answer all of these question and more.
South Philadelphia is known for its rich history and fabulous festivals, like the Italian Market Festival, held on 9th street every year, not to mention Geno's and Pat's which visitors to the city flock to every year in order to try a cheesesteak. In addition to this, the neighborhood is home to the Sports Complex where the Phillies, Eagles, 76ers, and Flyers play and numerous museums providing endless sources of entertainment.
But there is a darker side to South Philly that isn't often acknowledged. Every year, thousands of residents are hurt in personal injury accidents.
These injuries aren't just a stubbed toe or bruised elbow and they cost the victim thousands of dollars in unexpected medical bills. Our clients have suffered from:
broken bones
traumatic brain injuries
burns
amputations
deep lacerations
spinal injuries
It's difficult enough being in physical pain but it doesn't stop there. The injuries can halt or completely end a career, leaving the victim with debt and no income, which is why the law allows those who have been hurt to file a personal injury lawsuit. While it might seem like a drastic step, the fact is that it may be the only way to obtain full compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, physical pain and suffering, and even, in some cases, emotional trauma.
Many of our clients were unsure if they qualified to file a lawsuit under personal injury laws when they came to us. But a personal injury lawsuit, which is a form of a civil lawsuit, can be filed whenever one party's negligence causes harm to someone else.
Accidents That May Make A Philadelphian Goggle "Attorneys Near Me"
West Passyunk, South Philly, PA 19147 - Three Pedestrians Hit By A Car
A 34-year-old driver has been arrested after he ran a stop sign near 21st and Jackson streets, hitting a minivan and causing his own vehicle to go up and over the curb where it then struck three people, a 45-year-old-man, a 40-year-old woman, and a two-year-old boy. All three were taken to Jefferson University Hospital and despite the doctor's best efforts, the mother died at the hospital from the traumatic brain injury she sustained when the car hit her. The driver, who ran on foot from the scene, was arrested and charged with manslaughter, homicide by vehicle, and a DUI.
Gray's Ferry, South Philly, PA 19146 - Explosion Rocks Power Plant
It was just a normal Wednesday at the Veolia power facility when suddenly, an industrial accident occurred. Firefighters and EMT's arrived to find that a boiler had exploded and that miraculously, only one employee sustained a work injury when he was hit by flying glass. The damage easily could have been much worse, however, a safety valve system helped to relieve the excess pressure, saving the overall structure.
Queen Village, Philadelphia, PA 19147 - Dog Attacks Park Ranger
A Park Ranger who was doing his job, checking the grounds of the Gloria Dei Church at around 1 a.m., was attacked by a dog being walked by a couple near the wall of the church. The dog latched onto his leg and the Ranger, unable to stop the attack, opened fire and killed the dog. He was then taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital to be treated for his bite wounds.

Everyone wants to trust that the insurance they pay for each month will take care of their needs should they be involved in a car accident. However, as many accident victims can confirm, insurance companies often train their adjusters to look for ways to deny a claim or to reduce the total amount paid out. As if that wasn't enough, when the policy limits are met, payments stop.
When that happens, may victims forgo medical treatments that they need because they simply can't afford the care. But in most cases, there is another option: car accident lawsuits.
If another party caused the accident, it may be possible to pursue legal action against them, then compensation can be obtained which could cover the necessary medical treatments, lost wages, physical pain and suffering, and even emotional trauma. When talking about the responsible party, it's not always other drivers who cause accidents, in fact, it may be possible to sue the manufacturer of a defective car part or the designer of that part.
In cases where the victim did not survive the accident, their loved ones may be eligible to pursue legal action on their behalf and recover additional damages such as loss of income, loss of consortium, and funeral and burial expenses.
Civil Law Attorney - Helping Injured Workers Navigate The Legal Waters
Workers Compensation & Civil Lawsuits For Hurt Employees
Voted Top Civil Law Firm By Legal Herald 2017
Experienced Attorneys Taking Cases Before Workers' Comp Board
Aggressively Fighting Every Day For Workers' Rights
No one goes to work in the morning thinking that by the end of the day their career may be over and they will need extensive medical care. Yet every day, thousands of workers become the victims of workplace accidents. Workers that are particularly at risk include:
Construction Workers
Employees In The Food Industry
HVAC Installers
Electricians
Roofers
Plumbers
Miners
Sanitation Workers
Healthcare Workers
The injuries sustained by an employee should be covered by workers' compensation insurance, however, like every other insurance agency, these companies have found ways to deny and reduce claims so that the company saves money. This leaves many without the funds they need to pay for their medical bills.
With the help of an experienced workers' comp lawyer, denials can be appealed and the correct coverage can be obtained. But that's not all. In many cases, a third-party is responsible for the accident which caused the worker harm and in addition to filing a workers' comp claim, the victim may be able to file a personal injury lawsuit against the party responsible. This can provide them with compensation that a workers' comp claim will never provide, like monetary sums for physical pain and suffering and emotional trauma.
Trial Attorney - Taking Patient's Complaints To Court
It Can Be Difficult To Prove Medical Malpractice Without A Lawyer's Help
Called "Simply The Best!" By Former Clients
Well Connected Law Firm With Access To Medical Specialists
Free Consultations Offered
Surgical mistakes, prescription errors, birth injuries, misdiagnosis, and even failure to obtain informed consent are all examples of medical malpractice. A patient goes into their doctor's office or the hospital and before they know it, they discover that whatever treatment has been prescribed has either caused them an injury or has made them iller. To make matters worse, it frequently means that the medical condition that should have been treated has been left to fester and become worse.
Knowing that a medical professional's mistake caused a patient harm and proving it are two very different things and it can be hard to get the compensation that is needed to pay for medical bills through a lawsuit without the help of an attorney who can help shoulder the stress, handle the paperwork, consult with medical experts who can testify in court, and prepare the client for trial.

A Brain Injury: When Head Trauma Occurs The Negligent Party Can Be Held Responsible

Consistently Negotiating Top Settlements
Anytime that someone sustains a blow to the head it can cause the soft tissue of the brain to hit the hard interior of the skull which may result in bruising, bleeding, swelling, and even tissue death. Unfortunately, because the brain is the control center of the body, this may mean that the patient is left with speech deficits, paralysis, memory loss, seizures, tremors, headaches, and a wide variety of other symptoms that make it difficult to function.
When the actions of one party contributed to the accident which caused the brain injury to occur, the victims of the accident have the right to file a personal injury lawsuit against the responsible party. This lawsuit may provide them with the compensation that they need for lifelong care, compensation for lost wages, and physical pain and suffering. The most common forms of personal injury lawsuit that address brain damage include car accident lawsuits, work injury lawsuits, slip and fall lawsuits, and motorcycle accident lawsuits.
The amount of compensation obtained will vary from case to case and depends on the losses sustained by the plaintiff.

When a child falls we tell them to brush it off and get back up but sometimes, it just not that easy. When someone trips on loose carpeting, slips on spilled liquids, or catches their foot on an exposed wire, the force with which they hit the ground can break bones, slip discs, and cause serious head trauma.
Whatever the injury, medical care is expensive and under premises liability law, these victims have the right to sue the responsible party.
Slip and fall lawsuits are typically filed against the owner of the property, the manager of the property, or a maintenance company who was in charge of cleaning up and correcting a hazard. Although it may take some time, the compensation obtained through a lawsuit can be invaluable and can provide the plaintiff with the money they need to cover hospital bills, time away from work, and even physical and emotional trauma.

May 31, 2017 - Police Officer Assaults Wife, Causing Chain Reaction Car Accident in South Philly
A Philadelphia police officer is facing 12 charges after he allegedly punched his wife and then chased her down in his patrol car when she fled. During the chase, his wife struck another vehicle, causing injuries to the other driver. For more information on this check out Philly News.
“I have been working since I was 14. I have probably held at least two dozen different jobs and I’ve seen people injured and hurt. One of the reasons I got involved with disability law is that I have a very good family friend who has been disabled his entire life, and I’ve seen how he’s struggled in order to keep working and try to work. When I was presented with the opportunity to get involved with what’s called “disability law,” I was really thrilled to be able to not only practice being an attorney, but helping other people who really need to know things about what their choices are, what they can do, and what their future may hold.
I am originally from Maple Glen, PA and is a life-long Eagles fan.
I have focused on helping individuals with their workers’ compensation, social security disability and long-term disability claims, as well as obtaining financial security for individuals who have had accidents.
As part of helping workers’ and their families, I have also been active in teaching continuing legal education courses to other attorneys, provide free seminars and webinars to the public on how to protect their rights, and I am active in various organizations such as the National Organization of Social Security Claims Representatives, the Injured Workers’ Bar Association and the Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group.”
