PA Turnpike Lane Shut Down After Serious Bucks County Accident

A serious multi-vehicle accident shut down the right lane and shoulder of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bucks County on Tuesday. The accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. Video of the scene showed that an SUV appeared to have rear-ended a tractor-trailer. One of the SUV's wheels and debris from the front end were strewn across the side of the highway.

One person was flown to Temple University Hospital for injury treatment. No word has been released on that person's condition.

Pedestrian Killed In Southwest Philadelphia Hit-And-Runfirefighters extinguishing car fire

A man was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Southwest Philadelphia on Sunday, October 16th. The accident occurred around 10 p.m. on the 2300 block of 67th street.

According to police, a man in his 40s was walking in the crosswalk at an intersection near Paschall Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver fled the scene. Emergency responders transported the man to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

Police are currently searching for a grey van which was seen leaving the accident scene.

32,000 Pounds Of Ammonia Leak At Montgomery County Meat-Packing Plant

A leak of between 32,000-34,000 pounds of ammonia brought the Montgomery County Hazmat team to a meat-packing plant in Souderton on the morning of Sunday, October 15th. The incident occurred around 10 a.m. at the JBS Packerland meat-packing plant. Hazmat team members discovered that the leak was coming from a piece of plant machinery. Between 6,000-8,000 pounds of remaining ammonia was transported to recovery trucks following the leak.

Fortunately, no injuries to plant workers or first responders were reported. According to police, there is "reduced concern" that the leak will release dangerous fumes to nearby communities, as it was concentrated in one part of the plant. However, the environmental ramifications are still unknown.

MEET OUR MANAGING PARTNER: BRIAN MITTMAN

“I have been working since I was 14. I have probably held at least two dozen different jobs and I’ve seen people injured and hurt. One of the reasons I got involved with disability law is that I have a very good family friend who has been disabled his entire life, and I’ve seen how he’s struggled in order to keep working and try to work. When I was presented with the opportunity to get involved with what’s called “disability law,” I was really thrilled to be able to not only practice being an attorney, but helping other people who really need to know things about what their choices are, what they can do, and what their future may hold.

I am originally from Maple Glen, PA and is a life-long Eagles fan.

I have focused on helping individuals with their workers’ compensation, social security disability and long-term disability claims, as well as obtaining financial security for individuals who have had accidents.

As part of helping workers’ and their families, I have also been active in teaching continuing legal education courses to other attorneys, provide free seminars and webinars to the public on how to protect their rights, and I am active in various organizations such as the National Organization of Social Security Claims Representatives, the Injured Workers’ Bar Association and the Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group.”
