Wright Medical Hip Implant Replacement Lawsuits

Imagine the painful medical and financial consequences of hip implant surgery only to have it fail within three years. Shocking!

Hip replacement operations are considered successful in relieving pain and restoring movement. Yet, ongoing problems with wear and metal debris may require further surgery (also known as replacement surgery or revision surgery). Men and people who weigh more than 165 pounds have higher rates of failure. The probability of a hip replacement lasting 20 years is approximately 80%.

Are the odds of hip implant success high enough? Would you take on that risk or let a family member spin the wheel of hip implant fortune?

Does your doctor know Wright from wrong?

According to the FDA Safety and Effectiveness Data, the Wright Medical hip implant system should not be used for:

  • Patients with active or suspected infection in or around the hip joint
  • Patients who are skeletally immature
  • Patients with bone stock inadequate to support the device including:
  • Patients with severe osteopenia should not receive the CONSERVE® Plus Total Resurfacing Hip procedure.
  • Patients with a family history of severe osteoporosis or severe osteopenia;
  • Patients with osteonecrosis or avascular necrosis (AVN) with greater than 50% involvement of the femoral head (regardless of FICAT Grade) should not receive a CONSERVE® Plus Total Resurfacing Hip System device; or patients with multiple cysts of the femoral head greater than 1cm should not receive a CONSERVE® Plus Total Resurfacing Hip System device.
  • Patients with any vascular insufficiency, muscular atrophy, or neuromuscular disease severe enough to compromise implant stability or postoperative recovery.
  • Females of child bearing age due to unknown effects of metal ion release on the fetus.
  • Patients with known moderate or severe renal insufficiency
  • Patients who are immune-suppressed with diseases such as AIDS or persons receiving high doses of corticosteroids;
  • Patients who are obese and/or with a BMI greater than 35
  • Patients with known or suspected metal sensitivity such as to jewelry

If you or a family member required a replacement hip implant because your Wright Medical hip implant failed far too soon, then it’s imperative that you talk to an unsafe medical hip implant device lawyer. Medical device makers must be held responsible for unsafe hip implants like Wright and DePuy. How can we help you?

There are many kinds of hip implant systems. Your doctor will determine which hip implant system is the right one for your medical symptoms. How confident are you in your doctor’s expertise? How many Wright Medical Conserve Plus Total Resurfacing Hip Systems has your doctor performed successfully?

MEET OUR MANAGING PARTNER: BRIAN MITTMAN

“I have been working since I was 14. I have probably held at least two dozen different jobs and I’ve seen people injured and hurt. One of the reasons I got involved with disability law is that I have a very good family friend who has been disabled his entire life, and I’ve seen how he’s struggled in order to keep working and try to work. When I was presented with the opportunity to get involved with what’s called “disability law,” I was really thrilled to be able to not only practice being an attorney, but helping other people who really need to know things about what their choices are, what they can do, and what their future may hold.

I am originally from Maple Glen, PA and is a life-long Eagles fan.

I have focused on helping individuals with their workers’ compensation, social security disability and long-term disability claims, as well as obtaining financial security for individuals who have had accidents.

As part of helping workers’ and their families, I have also been active in teaching continuing legal education courses to other attorneys, provide free seminars and webinars to the public on how to protect their rights, and I am active in various organizations such as the National Organization of Social Security Claims Representatives, the Injured Workers’ Bar Association and the Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group.”
