Bicyclist Struck By Vehicle And Injured In West Philadelphia

Another bicyclist was injured in Philadelphia after being struck by an SUV on Thursday, January 18. The accident happened shortly before noon at the intersection of 63rd and Vine streets in West Philly.

News footage from a helicopter showed a red SUV stopped at the scene and the bicycle's wheel sticking out from underneath the passenger side of the vehicle. The bicyclist was brought to the hospital and his injuries were considered non-life-threatening.

Police are investigating the cause of the bicycle accident.

Traffic Shutdown After Accident On I-95 Near Broad Street

All southbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Philadelphia were shut down for several hours on the morning of Sunday, January 21 after a car accident near the Broad Street exit. The crash occurred at around 5 a.m. Two people were brought to Hahnemann Hospital for treatment, but no information was released regarding their conditions.

The southbound lanes were shut down for almost five hours following the car crash. Traffic was detoured off of the highway. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

Couple Steals Vehicle In Delaware County, Causes Accident

A man and woman led police on a lengthy car chase on January 18, beginning in Delaware County and ending in South Philadelphia when the stolen Hummer crashed onto railroad tracks. According to Chester police, the couple was seen in the stolen vehicle with New York tags, traveling north on I-95 when an officer attempted to pull them over. The driver then began to drive erratically and headed towards Philadelphia. The vehicle weaved in and out of traffic and eventually caused a state trooper to crash.

The vehicle exited the highway onto South Columbus Boulevard after reaching the city. It got stuck on the CSX Railroad tracks, and the two suspects exited the vehicle and ran towards a strip mall. One entered a Pier 1 Imports store while the other entered Best Buy. Eventually, both were apprehended by police. Luckily, no one was seriously hurt in the incident.

Montgomery County Man Killed In Allentown Traffic Accident

A Montgomery County man was killed after he crashed his car into a concrete median in Allentown on Friday, January 19. The accident happened shortly before 5 p.m. at the South Eighth Street railroad overpass. The man was brought to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest and treated for multiple traumatic injuries before being pronounced dead at 5:42 p.m.

MEET OUR MANAGING PARTNER: BRIAN MITTMAN

“I have been working since I was 14. I have probably held at least two dozen different jobs and I’ve seen people injured and hurt. One of the reasons I got involved with disability law is that I have a very good family friend who has been disabled his entire life, and I’ve seen how he’s struggled in order to keep working and try to work. When I was presented with the opportunity to get involved with what’s called “disability law,” I was really thrilled to be able to not only practice being an attorney, but helping other people who really need to know things about what their choices are, what they can do, and what their future may hold.

I am originally from Maple Glen, PA and is a life-long Eagles fan.

I have focused on helping individuals with their workers’ compensation, social security disability and long-term disability claims, as well as obtaining financial security for individuals who have had accidents.

As part of helping workers’ and their families, I have also been active in teaching continuing legal education courses to other attorneys, provide free seminars and webinars to the public on how to protect their rights, and I am active in various organizations such as the National Organization of Social Security Claims Representatives, the Injured Workers’ Bar Association and the Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group.”
